Mr. Rabone has 32 years continuous experience in mineral exploration and mine geology in Australia, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Canada, the U.S., Chile and México. He holds a Diploma of Applied Geology (B.Sc. equivalent), from Australia’s Bendigo Institute of Technology (now La Trobe University) and, in 2002, was awarded a Master of Applied Science (Research) from the University of Canberra, Australia. Mr. Rabone is Principal of Graeme Rabone and Associates Pty Ltd, a geoscientific consulting firm founded by him in 1994, which specialises in mineral project generation and evaluation, exploration management, and resource definition and development. Prior to embarking on a career as a consulting geologist, he held senior positions with Homestake for twelve years and the Aberfoyle-Cominco group of companies for a further eight years and served in the Production/Chief Geologist position in two open pit gold mines and an open pit/underground tin mine. He has had experience with most styles of precious and base metal deposits, in addition to platinum, diamond and opal exploration. He is credited with key roles in the discovery, identification, evaluation and resource expansion of significant gold and base metal deposits in Australia, and has authored or co-authored several geoscientific publications. In 1996 Mr. Rabone was awarded the Joe Fisher Medal for Excellence in Mining by the Darwin, Northern Territory branch of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, and remains a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a life member of the Bendigo Institute of Technology Gold Medallists Association.
